^^ i agree to a point. Grant Hart is.. always has been brilliant. its a difficult toss up. Nova Mob.. yes. :)

Well, never bothered to check out Pissed Jeans before, MISTAKE!

Turned out they play the precise sort of lethargic, 'adult angst' stuff like the greats; Flipper, Brainbombs, early Melvins, FrantiX, Drunks With Guns, No Trend etc. (Any others?)

New albums r00lz (not that this sounds like the aforementioned)

I like the rhythm section driven sound of nomeansno. They were always kind of a "smart" punk band to me, if that would be a way to put it. The drummer and bassist are brothers. These guys still tour and they still completely rock. It's kind of refreshing to see actually, these guys have grey hairs and ting but are still kicking out the jams.

This would be the drummer singing on this song. It's actually great to see and hear the kind of drum lines this guy plays, almost sort of jazzy sometimes, and still be able to do vocals.

Same with Gauze, though. Been doin it for 30 years and rock harder than any other band. They could be around as long as the Stones without getting embarrassing

^^ if you are Canadian, NomeansNo is like Rush.. and equivalent to Rush in many circles i'm sure... in a good way. in all the right ways. NomeansNo have been a constant since i've been alive. i couldn't remember getting into punk - LOCAL Canadian punk - without them.

they've just always been there, and have defined music for many.

NomeansNo IS the reason. heh,

and yeah Gauze is classic rock of Japanese core fo sho. good stuff. always entertaining. :)

Garden Variety (New Jersey, 1991 - 1996) ... for days.

that Cure "Push" cover was only available on a zine mail order compilation that i'm sure only a very few people actually own. I heard it on the radio once (CBC Radio, Brave New Waves - Canada, r.i.p), and my brother actually mail ordered a copy of the zine & comp when it came out. its funny what obscurities actually get posted on the internet. i think its a great cover. always have.

i can still listen to Garden Variety and still be content with things, ya know?
