How'd you do that?
Patch or explanation please, so I can understand what gives it such wet whompyness with no plugins used.
I'm being serious. That sounds nice, even if it is a Skrillex growl.
I get some decent growls using EQ automation actually. As for advanced timbre changes, modulate the FM matrix.sunny_b_uk wrote:not really i don't use EQ automation like that at all, i automate the gain (and Q if needed) as well since i tend to do things in fine detail.blinkesko wrote:Really depends on how you automate it. Sounds like you've just made some narrow peaks and automated them between freqs, which even in theory is gonna sound like wow filter on 100% wet and with a high resonance.
i was sayin i wouldn't rely on it too much since i feel growl basses in general need a more advanced timbre change as the sound progresses to be more appealing. IMO choosing the right waveforms usually results in a cleaner sound and can give really defined vowels if done right. im just saying iv seen plenty people on youtube do big +18db gains with EQ automation without automating much else when it shouldn't be like that.
How about this: modulating fm matrix+eq's. mind = blown D;PhotonOfficial wrote:I get some decent growls using EQ automation actually. so basically its 2 massive patches both using a daft and band reject filter in combination with the wavetable intensities modulated. i layered them so that it sounded like one uniform patch and then bounced them out for resampling. i find that logics AU multiband compressor works well for splitting frequencies. I split into 3 groups sub low and high. apply flangers, phasers to taste on the various bands (more on the highs than lows) and some slight distortion and thats about it reallyPillowFight wrote:that's neat, how'd you go about this?AudioConTrOL wrote:made this earlier today

I know this is justa Growl Bass thread, but can you help me? trying to get that wobble that sounds before the first growl.
I agree, also your EP teaser is killer.Kit Fysto wrote:I mean, I hate to be that guy, but don't you guys kind of feel like the "growl" bass sound is kind of spent at this point? I think with all the creative and intelligent minds in here, we could talk about the synthesis of totally new sounds. I know this is the "bass growl" thread, but it just seems done at this point. Lets look At what's next. Just a suggestionnot looking for an argument or anything.
I totally agree, but nobody ever comes up with unique sounds:(Kit Fysto wrote:I mean, I hate to be that guy, but don't you guys kind of feel like the "growl" bass sound is kind of spent at this point?
