Severance: Blade of Darkness just came out on GOG, it's like Demon/Dark Souls before they existed.

I bust out my old systems a lot, Snatcher and Sonic CD are about the only fond memories I have of that horrid attachment.
I always love hopping in MAME as well playing those old arcade classics with an actual arcade stick.
One of my faves to play still

^ fuck yeah! splatter house is awesome.

i agree that the sega cd is a hillarious entry into the world of console gaming, but I love playing some of the quirky games on it. sonic cd is great!

me and my brother are actually working on attaching some jotsticks to our pi's in the next couple of days. the end goal is a cheap, but nice, full size arcade running tons of emulators, all we have to do is figure out the GPIO and carpentry stuff.

always have to keep a CRT aside for the old systems, even if you do have the inputs for them, they look like shit on HD tvs

Oh yeah picked up the latest Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed since it was on sale for over 50% on GMG
BEST KART RACER EVER, miles ahead of the last one, and kills Mario Kart imo

^ it looks fine on mine, got the black letter box on the sides so its just a big ass square tv

@sig- when shopping for a tv you gotta make sure its got some composite inputs. a lot of hd tv still have them, you just have to check first.

@liam - the sooner the better, these consoles just keep getting more and more expensive

Fire Emblem series >>>>>>>>>

Just finished the new Tomb Raider. Should've named it Uncharted featuring Lara Croft but still, very enjoyable game (especially when you get the 100% upgraded bow, madness)

Finally getting into Total War: Shogun 2 after owning it for nearly 2 years and not playing it properly. I think it's cos I'm finally getting tired of FPS games, but also cos I need something to hold me over till Rome II. Sick game, they've refined it so much since the old Total War games. Would recommend.

Half Life 2. The music in the game is atrocious. Just listen to this:

I wonder why famous electronic musicians are not approached by VG companies anymore. Remember Ken Ishii in REZ or FSOL in Wipeout? Imagine a good SHMUP with a soundtrack by Ikonika or a racing game with Night Slugs tracks thrown in for a good measure.

Or this scene with "His Money" in the background:

Some of the music in HL2 is pretty good imo, and the sound design is brilliant.
