Do you buy music??

Post by Zeros and ones » Wed Mar 13, 2013 7:27 pm

I'm genuinely interested. I personally believe that, particularly with underground music, you should support the artists you love by purchasing the stuff that they've spent hours working on & which gives us so much pleasure. Even if it's an MP3 download.

I myself still buy CDs & the odd vinyl. Would like to get other peoples perspective.

this is a music-themed internet forum. safe to assume people on here do listen to music. is your question regarding whether they buy it in a shop vs a website?

Obviously people listen to music, I'm asking if people buy music. Thought that was clear in the title where it says "do you buy music"??

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.

Most people will say they buy music, its a forum based on underground sounds which has a strong vinyl support so yeah most here buy & support music. Even if they don't you're not gunna get many replies saying 'no I illegally download music'.

very good point. its good to see that violating copyright is shamed at the public level at least.

unfortunately, this is true. youtube may help sell records, but it also gives casual listeners an excuse to not buy digital.

actually i have no idea. go buy some records and have a great time with your favorite friends

I play Vinyl, so I have no choice but to buy. Not complaining though, feels good to do your bit for the scene and your local record shop.
