A beginner songmaker here. I've been making songs for my own fun during the last year, but since I'm learning stuff on my own, it's quite hard to understand a few things. I'm using ableton and my main problem is the sound of my songs. Since I'm not a sound engineer I don't really know how could I make my bass hearable and still nutcrarkin for example (ofc i know i have to push the frequencies a bit higher, but the results aren't satisfying, they sound annoying)
Here is one of my songs. It's obviously sounds sh*t, but that's why I'm here

So please tell some critiques and ideas how should I repair it and how could I make it sound more realistic/live/not so digital (if you know what i mean)
(using Ableton 9)
Soundcloud
btw the song itself is far from finished, i'll try to make it more progressive, so focus on how it sounds

All the problems you just talked about are what we all experienced when we started bro
I started on fruity loops well over three years ago now and taught myself everything up until then using hours of trial and error everyday
I now use logic as its my weapon of choice and create the majority of my sounds in massive, FM8, and absynth (I hardly ever use presets anymore as I can never get the exact sound I want)
In regards to getting your bass to punch through you need to consider several things.
Firstly there is only soo much room for frquencies in a mix, so if all your sounds are bassy, the ones you want to provide the bass will not come through clearly. Try Eq'ing the rest of your sounds (appart from your bottom end and the drums) to a higher frequency
Its just trial and error generally anyways
And your song doesn't sound shit, you just need more practise :3
Keep on going Bro
