I think that's the candy covered kind of hardcore for that kid with the bad life decision tattoo
I started out djing and what got me into production besides ambient was the old school hardcore stuff.
Still love the Omar Santana mixes, but my fave mix wise was Ron D Core - Decibels of Destruction
have a taste

Still have tons of vinyl and boxset collections on cd of the old rotterdam era stuff.
From hardcore and ambient (2 total opposites)non phsyical instrument band wise I went to acid house to jungle to dnb which is what got me serious about production and now i feel old.

Ron D Core's label was purty decent as well. Though I think that the Rotterdam melodic hoover and cheesy offensive lyrics was kinder lame. Newcastle (Aus) and France released way better stuff in the '90s. The Midwest too. Some of the shit from London too mayne. Traffik..., Matt Green. Hurl yeah.

Dutch hardcore didn't get truly good for the most part when it got dark and minimal around the turn of the century.

Yea I pretty much evolved over to DHR and the breakcore stuff before all the major changes happened. Hell Alec Empire - The Destroyer is probably my top LP of all time period.
Bought it 2x on vinyl over 6x on CD all but one stolen/borrowed out permanently over the years.
That LP was so futuristic and crossover for hardcore/jungle/hip hop/metal/punk people mainly into DnB

Think that, Aphrodite's first LP, Wu Killer Bees and N.O.R.E.'s God Favorite lps have been stolen/perm borrowed and repeatedly replaced over the years for me.
