Yeah. The new show's top, too though. Just more eclectic styles and less pure dubstep.

I think there's some legal thing / condition of the license that says they can't. I suspect the likes of Tempa, DMZ, Hotflush, Tectonic and so on would be quite glad of the exposure, but major labels get a bit pissy if it looks like someone might have free access to their precious intellectual property in a manner that they aren't strictly in control of, and the BBC don't seem to be capable of spotting that MAH doesn't play the new Madonna single very often...

it's all about Publishing Rights.. the BBC have only secured the rights to put a one-week playback of the show on-line on a poor quality Real Player.. so that people can't rip digital copies of the tunes from the show...

its a legal minefield for the BBC and very very hard to negotiate with other old skool music industry institutions... as you can appreciate, because the BBC is what it is, you can't make a new move without 100 per cent legal entitlement..

however, as i have said many times.. as the technology is there... and the demand for the show as a podcast and an archive you can keep is so high, people will just do it for themselves.. and then nobody gets paid!
