I read analysts saying this may actually simply be kim jong-un attempting to legitimate his own power over his army/country, as he is very young and the Juche regime may not be as stable as it seems to be
Re: North Korea conflict imminent?
First rule of douchebagging is don't take threats so far that you have to carry through on them. Cutting coms with SK and fueling up rockets is a bit far.
Re: North Korea conflict imminent?
I don't reckon NK have the capability to get a nuke to the US for shit. I reckon they will try though

If you can put a nuke in orbit, you can reach any country.

Re: North Korea conflict imminent?
this is very true, although i don't think they've taken them that far yet, cutting comms isn't ideal, but they can be re-established if things de-escalate and getting your shit ready incase is standard in these situations, the usa and ussr managed to hold back from firing at each other for ages while being ready to take the whole world out at a moments notice on both sides. if things escalate much further tho they prob will have to either carry their threats through or shut the fuck up from then on as their threats won't mean shit.nowaysj wrote:First rule of douchebagging is don't take threats so far that you have to carry through on them. Re: North Korea conflict imminent?
I dont think Nk are stupid enough to start a war intentionally. The problem comes if they push the little games they're playing too far. The last SK leader got a load of flak whrn he failed to respond to when they shelled that island- it could easily escalate out of control with both sides refusing to back down.

China will step in like the sober friend of the drunk guy trying to fight you, apologise to the rest of the world and have a quiet word with NK round the side of the chippy before anything happens.

Any other country and I'd say "never gonna happen".
Dude was RAISED to be an apocalyptic nutjob. Take his nukes away right now and if you can't take his nukes, take his nuke firing button.
China won't lose much they'll miss when they eventually sell Pyongyang's prince down the river, but they'll gain the invaluable trust of the West before crushing us in the final Data War.

You lot should read more independent sources:
http://www.aljazeera.com/news/asia-paci ... 59483.html
The DPRK has no proven military capacity to hit any of the US bases it claims, except South Korea. It's also not the first time they've declared the end of the armistice between north & south.
If you were unnecessarily harassed by US stealth bombers wouldn't you want to at least say something in your own defence? The media seems to be bigging up the Korean's belligerence yet mention nothing about why the US are flying stealth bombers over the area when there's no need?
Kind of interesting that Korea aren't threatening Japan right now, maybe because the current government is considering a more active role for the self-defence forces and they don't want to push them to re-militarisation...

Big up actually linking a source. Although i think they are capable of hitting japan as well, saw a thing (no link, lazy, and it was mainstream news anyways, CBC) several weeks ago that mentioned they had a rocket test and the launch flew straight over japan into the pacific.test recordings wrote:You lot should read more independent sources:

Re: North Korea conflict imminent?
Come to think of it, in the eventuallity of a conflict, I think China may be a bigger asset to NK than Russia, I mean sure Russia loves their lumberjack slave labor camps to be full ( http://www.vice.com/en_ca/vice-news/nor ... mps-part-1 ) but Beijing has been the biggest aid (rations and some goods) provider for a long time. They want a communist wall on that peninsula for sure.Nevalo wrote:if it all turns to shit, ive got a feeling china are gonna be the ones to go for japan (after they take back taiwan that is)test recordings wrote:
