I mean, particularly SNH, which is probably the worst part of this forum to someone who shares your views, why do you do this to yourself?

Because i like to interact with people who have similar interests as me and I'm trying to make new connections beyond my local scene. Sometimes it gets boring to just post about how to use massive and I just want to talk with people about unrelated subjects for entertainment/humour and networking, also, not many Dj's hang out in the sound design/track feedback forums. initially I felt like this was a good place to start looking since a good bunch of people who use the site actively lurk here.

I do pretty well in person, I work for the largest EDM promotion company in my city and I count very respectable locals amongst my good friends. in person i'm normally very outgoing and positive however this doesnt translate well online in this type of forum. I'm just at home alot because producing is hard and requires you to work at it for hours on a daily basis to achieve anything unless you are extremely gifted and can make hits in 10 minutes. So networking online is a good way to keep the social ball rolling and not be too much of a hermit outside of parties and events, thats all really.

This kind of returns me to my question about SNH in particular, things like "EDM Promotion Company" don't usually strike a chord with the membership that frequents this part of the forum tbh. I don't frequently venture outside of here, but perhaps you'd be better off in general where people are apparently more appreciative of the music in its present form.

Maybe you are right.. although by like-mindedness I really just mean common interests. (Bass music, producing/dj'ing, net humour) The reason why I come here more is really for humour. The posts on here sometimes make me tear up laughing, the NSFW tag alleviates some of the dry more common to other forums, I guess that comes at a price.
