Biggest grime dubplates??

Post by Geey » Sun Apr 07, 2013 5:55 pm

Never was a tune spotter with grime like I was with dubstep, so think I missed out on a whole bunch of tunes in grime that remained dubplates?
Did grime ever have its own massive unreleased dubplate like dubstep did with midnight, jah power dub amongst others?

So my question is, what are grimes biggest unreleased dubplates?

:w:

Nowhere near as many as dubstep has because grime was MC orientated unlike dubstep which is heavily DJ orientated.

DJ Oddz has a lot of tunes that never got released. String champion is a monster!

Yeah I agree, but saw an interview with slimzee where he said he still has all his dubplates, which he has about 300 of.

Quite a few of them I'd take a guess at being unreleased exclusives.

A lot will probably be slimzee VIPs I'm guessing

Edit.

Did dj marsta - hollow ever get released.. Topmanlurka mentioned it had a small amount pressed.. Anyone else heard of copies?

crazy titch - gunshot riddim? could never tell if the youtube video was a pirate radio rip or a proper recorded vocal

either way, i'd do shameful things for the vocal or instrumental of that riddim :i:

bro...

Mak 10's collection (nasty, everyone else)
Tubby's " (foots, dee, skream)
Slimzee's " (paug, everyone)
Spyro's " (rapid, ruff sqwad, chunky bizzle, everyone)
Maximum's " (skepta, bbk, etc)

no exaggeration, the amount of dubs that just these guys alone have is not even level to the dubstep heads. you're forgetting that guys like mak 10 and slim had actual beats made for them bitd. geeneus has said he's made like 100+ beats for slimzee/pay as u go. dubs in grime have never been as romanticised as dubs in this sound though, alot of stuff was actually put out back then.

remember, before skepta picked up the mic he was catering to mak 10:

Shit forgot about all the old mr keas riddems tubby used to rinse.

there was one skream uploaded to his soundcloud with Wiley riding it... Sounded abit like a old exothermic reaction, but went proper hard.. Dunno if that ever got released or not on the southside label.

Yeah thats what I meant.. theres not as many as highly rated like Loefah/Mala/Skreams dubs.. You can't ask about the best tunes of those 3 without getting a huge list of their dubs. Not really like that in grime.

Didn't Slimzee sell most of his dubs?

That's pretty cheap for such a vast collection of possibly so many gems.

most of them were doubles and even triples of beats slim had so it was ideal to sell.
