Re: North Korea conflict imminent?
A war would benefit everyone but the koreas. A large scale war and invasion would benefit USA and their allies by putting some heat on their industries (plus, don't even get me started on how this will end in even more HURRR DURRR FREEDOM bullshit propaganda to justify fascist actions against other countries), Russia would profit from selling weapons and China would profit from selling everything else. The Koreas will be burned down to the ground and torn apart again, victims of the imperialist 1st world parasitation. For fuck sake, it's just an idiot throwing shit at the midia, he won't do shit, he just needs an excuse to justify his gorvenment since his people are struggling with starvation, lack of supplies and work.

Does a leader of a nuclear-armed (no matter how shoddily) regularly threatening to start a war and hit your and your allies countries with nuclear weapons, then arming those weapons not constitute a need then?test recordings wrote:If you were unnecessarily harassed by US stealth bombers wouldn't you want to at least say something in your own defence? The media seems to be bigging up the Korean's belligerence yet mention nothing about why the US are flying stealth bombers over the area when there's no need?
Come on, I'm not exactly pro-countries sticking their nose in, but this is just pointlessly anti-american.
If one country that borders nuclear maniacs wanted my help in military exercises and gave permission to fly stealth bombers over their own country, then there's no issue IMO, especially with the neighbours that they have.
Without the US trying to own the whole of Korea in the first place it wouldn't have split the country so brutally. The best solution would be reunification, which was heralded by both sides as viable within 50 years not so long ago. It's also fair for the people that live their to exercise their right to self-determination, but they don't necessarily need to be invaded for that to happen!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-22027867North Korea has shifted a missile with "considerable range" to its east coast, South Korea's foreign minister says.
Kim Kwan-jin played down concerns that the missile could target the US mainland, and said the North's intentions were not yet clear.
Pyongyang earlier renewed threats of a nuclear strike against the US, though its missiles are not believed to be capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
The US is responding to North Korea by moving missile defence shields to Guam.

I don't really think it's North Korea with it's outdated Musudan and bizzarre threats that people should be worried about, rather, it is the implications of what could happen after any attack that is terrifying. Who knows how China would react in the face of having US forces on their doorstep when NK is flattened. Perhaps not short term, but long term... I fear a downward spiral.
If a series of events is set off globally that sees aggression between the USA and China, I'd imagine Russia and Iran would be involved, and let's also not forget Russia still has a colossal supply of nukes and created one that was so devastating that the cloud reached the stratosphere and it was 1000 times more powerful than the blasts at Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined.. the 'Tsar Bomba'
The fear is that if the US keeps parading about someone is going to stand up to them and humanity will suffer.
Ever watched 'Threads'? Nuclear war is a great threat to civilization, and a global nuclear conflict would be the darkest period of human history imaginable.

Re: North Korea conflict imminent?
it was made to give an idea as to what would happen to England if NATO and the USSR ever entered into open warfare. The UK, being an ally of the US, is nuked by the Soviets - about 210 kilotons. This kills off most of the population, eventually it falls to pre-medieval levels. Eventually society breaks down etc etc.test recordings wrote:What's 'Threads'?Perej wrote:I don't really think it's North Korea with it's outdated Musudan and bizzarre threats that people should be worried about, rather, it is the implications of what could happen after any attack that is terrifying. Not saying that it's necessarily going to happen soon, but it could happen quite easily. We humans are a vile, stupid species. We are capable of our own annihilation.
