i don't find anything remotely good or redeemable about the website
IMHO of course.

It puts the features of many websites into one place, that is used by most of the people I know or wish to talk to.
I can share something, and see what people around the world (that I actually care about) think about it.
I can chat, for free, anytime, anywhere with people that all over the place.
I can keep up to date with things that I'm interested in.
I can send out information to people interested in things that I run.

Sure, other tools or websites can do these things individually, but facebook does them all. I know it's not the only one, but it does have the most people there, so makes the most sense to me.

When people complain about facebook, most of the time they're actually complaining about the people they have on facebook.

Pretty much spot on here, just wish they'ed take away the thumb up option though, pisses me off when I see a pic of an orange horse-faced girl trying to impersonate a duck (pouting) and there are 50 thumbs up from total strangers that are so sexually frustrated they'd do anything to get laid. Most of the people on facebook are fucking retarded it pisses me off, doing anything to get attention. It's all luvy duvy till a girl gets raped or a young boy goes missing...Man i dnno why im gettin so worked up over this m barely on Facebook tbh. But yeah you get my point. The majority of people on Facebook are shallow attention seekers that don't give a fuck about anyone but themselves

Yeah i've got two accounts, one full of assholes and one full of people that i actually like (and know) I only kept my first one so I dont lose contact with anyone that I may have forgot to add on my new account and so i dont get friend requests off people i dont like. Doesent bother me when I go on facebook now i only go on the new one, I was just saying what pissed me off in the first place about facebook, cause it's kinda true. But like Garethom said you can avoid these people in real life, but in the end you still meet them.
