EDIT: I'm not advocating actual celebration of her death, just the fact that putting a lid on the discussion about the bad things she stood for and enacted leads absolutely nowhere and is frankly insulting to all the people who've been affected by her policies.

Yep. Her and Reagan made fiscal conservatism so popular that the Left forgot its job was to balance out the psyche of the nation when the Tories are in power, just as the Tories are supposed to balance when the Left gets carried away. Thatcher (along with all the millions of pounds she allowed people to make) convinced them all to pull in the same direction... whatever direction that was, it was never going to be positive for the health of our democracy.

I think one of the reasons the left hate her specifically is due in part to just how shit the majority of the left were in opposing her. We've kinda lost the art of politics and I tend to think this can be traced to the period of Thatchers and Reagans time in office.I also think that we're still counting the cost of her policies and some are ashamed of having bought into it the first time round.

A sigh is usually involentary and done exhaling when the trauma stops.

Its a common thing in Ingerland that once something has popped up in the public domain, the most common dividing oppinion is the one where you can morally knock people in the head with it. She was one of the foremost proponents of that principle and now you are taking it out for a spin.
