WebSDR Radio Tuner

Post by inDistinkt » Thu Apr 25, 2013 11:34 pm

Haven't posted much here for a while, but thought some of the ninjas would appreciate this website. A shortwave receiver set up in the Netherlands is somehow rigged to allow different users to simultaneously tune in to whatever frequency they want. I've spent hours playing with this over the pat few days.

Zoom in on the waterfall and adjust bandwidth parameters to pick up different radio signals from 0 to 29.160mhz. By using a smaller bandpass you can fine tune it and pick up all sorts of cool signals being broadcast.

edit: Ha forgot to post link...

Also enter any frequency you pick up in this site to find the location and possibly some information about the broadcast. Be sure to enter in mhz, not khz.

This is super cool. I just spent 45 minutes messing around with this. I've had an interest in shortwave radio for awhile.

Ya being from the states, it's pretty cool tuning into some of the international stations just to see what people around the world are talking about. This could be real helpful for learning other languages I bet.

But I love the sounds of all the bleeps, lots of morse code being sent, some of it sped up really fast, also just some sine waves with slight modulation. Some of the encrypted signals from federal agencies and other groups make some crazy sounds too.
