a label from auckland, new zealand

they are quite 'anti hiphop' eg. they dont give a shit about 'repping their massiv' but they arent 'conscious hiphop' either

just nice guys who make great music

I agree Eminem's new stuff is sodding awful but he used to be a top rapper back in the Slim Shady/Marshall Mathers LP days. All the other rappers knew it, he used to kill guest spots.

Not much current US stuff is doing it for me, all just hype and flash... yeah, some of its fun at the club, but its all so disposable.

Suprised no one mentioned Atmosphere yet. IMO Slug is one of the best lyricists in a while and Ant is sick wit the beats. Havent been dissapointed yet. "The Woman with the Tattooed Hands" is a masterpiece.

MURS should most definately be mentioned too. Just got on a major too, Warner Bros I think. I see him out at DnB and Dubstep shows in LA alot, brockin out just like everyone else. Very cool, down to earth cat.

Since I mentioned both of em separately, the Felt stuff they do together is worth checkin too.

And, I agree with the Eminem comment. Dude used to be so sick, but alot of it came from his struggle and his surroundings. Take that out of him and you get what he is now, technically still dope, but way lacking in content and meaning.

El-P's Fantastic Damage gets a nod too, that is some punk-rock type shit right there. In fact the whole DefJux stable, Aesop Rock, Cannible Ox... dope.

Anyone ever heard of MC Paul Barman? Check him out. Weird, but dope, and produced by Prince Paul - thats gotta count for somethin'.

Handsome Boy Modeling School. Prince Paul, Dan the Automator and loads of guests. Sick.

I heard something about a new Dr. Octagon record too, anyone heard it?

Atmosphere and Murs are both sick as is Ant's production, couldn't agree more...

As for the new Dr Octagon, it's pretty cool, i don't remember the name but i've heard it... Some cool tracks about tree's, oxygen and ants. Deff worth checkin out tho probably not as sweet as his other stuff.
