Any one know his live set up? I know he DJ's off of Ableton but I'm curious as to how. I have been a few mixers and things like that. Is he just triggering pre-cut clips and mixing them together or what the fuck is going on?

I have no idea how he uses but he has some fuck off great big mixer and what appears to be some kind of midi controller and a few effects units... either way, when i saw him at DMZ a couple of years ago he fucking smashed it!

He probably has midi instrument tracks and plays with the effects and stuff live... looks more like an airplane cockpit then a DJ set-up though!

Yeah and you can see in front of the midi controller is another mixer I've seen this exact same setup in a lot of videos. But i have yet to figure out what each part is doing. In my mind I'm figuring that he has his set up to work like the Akai apc40 for Ableton.

The giant mixer for greater detail/mixing capability?

Drum pads trigger the effects in Ableton, or the next clip in a sequence? Although I have seen a video where he hit a pad and some effects kicked in. So if he manually selecting the track in Ableton?

And the mini mixer on top of the drum pads for the amount of audio sent to the sends?

The mixer is Behringer not sure about the model though. Majority of his tracks are broken down into their separate components i.e. percussion, drums, leads, bass within separate clips in ableton and he activates these from the drum pads. The mixer is to control all the separate components including the send/return for the Roland Space Echo. He explains some of this on a video on Dubspot on youtube. Not really sure about finer details though.

I remember seeing that video. But thats when he plays his songs what about when he plays a mala song or something? Well i guess essentially its the same thing. Which mixer are you talking about? the Little one or the giant thing?

Found the Mixer.

Knowing who made it makes it easier.

The BEHRINGER Europower PMH5000

The drum pads are the Korg nanopad2

And i think the secondary mixer in the picture might be this the Korg nanoKontrol

when he plays live he only plays his own tunes. tunes from other producers only get played in his dj sets.
