One of the original 'Purple' trio alongside compadres Joker and Guido, Gemmel 'Gemmy' Phillips has been responsible for pushing a majestically colourful take on the sub-heavy sound of today, sculpting his own unique sound that marks him out from pretty much anyone in the dubstep scene. Gemmy first came to the wider consciousness with double A-side 'Bk 2 The Future'/ 'Bass Transmitter' on legendary Bristol label Punch Drunk. This was quickly followed with releases on Planet Mu and a track on Mary Anne Hobb's 'Wild Angels' compilation, further cementing his position in the international bass-music scene. Gemmy is currently working on forthcoming releases for his label WoW and Kahn & Neek's new imprint Bandulu. Equally adept on the decks as he is in the studio, you do not want to miss Gemmy tearing down Take5.
LOJIK

Having built up a following with his early straight up dubstep productions, live sets and that white label bootleg, Bristol based Lojik has turned his hand to a more melodic streak, blending musical elements with driving garage beats and dusty vocals. This in turn has given Lojik the opportunity to perform around the country (and even play at the famed Outlook festival twice) as well as appear on bills with many big names in the scene. Since becoming part of the Durkle Disco family with his single 'Retrospect', Lojik has sought to broaden his musical output by taking influence from other artists on the label, as well as utilising the vocal talents of Central Spillz & Mistafire to add another flavour to his tracks. In this new environment of a collection of different producers all bringing something to the table, we can expect big things from Lojik in the future.
CARLOS

One of the younger members of the Durkle family, Carlos is a versatile producer equally comfortable writing bubbly 2 steppers reminiscent of garage's classic era as he is the grime bangers he made his name with, particularly under former alias Rampz. Previously supported by grime scene luminaries such as Elijah & Skilliam, DOK & Selecta Fewie, Carlos recently made his debut on Durkle Disco with a remix of OH91's recent single 'NoGo'. With solo releases in the pipeline, as well as a cheeky bootleg and a track on the forthcoming Central Spillz mixtape, expect a lot more from Carlos in 2013 and beyond.

Another of the young producers at the vanguard of Bristol's 8 bar grime grime renaissance (as well as being responsible for the artwork on Durkle singles), Lemzly Dale is definitely one to watch this year. When not collaborating with fellow Bristol artists such as OH91 & Kahlil or providing soundtracks for the infamous Lazer Leng videos, he can also be found producing some serious instrumental hip hop under his Pea Whitey alias. But on May 10th it's all about the grime vibes.

A.Quake, the wrong uns behind some of Bristol's biggest parties go head to head with Trap Mag's DJ Rex to end the night in their inimitable messy style. I'd imagine they're going to play a lot of jungle, but who really knows where the night will go...
