Oh right. I usually just download what I want, then if I like it and decide to keep it, I'll buy it through iTunes or whatever the avenue may be. A lot of the music I listen to is from a long time ago and those artists have already gotten paid for their music. Or it's from an artist who doesn't charge for his music.

That's what it boils down to.steiney wrote:I can't believe you guys don't like that stuff. It's so in your face and involved. That's the kind of music that keeps me on the edge of my seat. And I just came across a bit of "Glitch Hop" as well. Pretty similar to Brostep, I guess. Oh well. To each their own.
Before you possibly get 'into' brostep though, you should give actual dubstep a chance... listening to it on laptop speakers will not do it justice at all, though they're ideal for brostep.
Hear Goat Stare or something on a decent system, and you'll see

Re: Ideas For a Newbee
Thanks DRTY. I tried to listen with an open mind, but stuff like the tracks you just included in your last post or mind-numbingly boring to me (no offense meant, seriously). I need something more technical, aggressive, etc. I do seriously love the crazy, growling bass lines but I think I can find enough of that in Brostep once I have the time to do a good bit of listening. And Glitch Hop. That genre seems pretty interesting to me at first listen.
Re: Ideas For a Newbee
dont see how the james blake remix can be boring really. besides its dance music. you dont need ppl to be captivated in the songs. if ppl are starting to get bored the dj will just mix in the next tune. These tunes aren't really meant to be heard in fullsteiney wrote:Thanks DRTY. One more shot...
EDIT: You can't expect to sway someone towards 'the good side' who is completely new to the genre, or having only heard screechy shit by posting James Blake or Guido. Always happens on here

Re: Ideas For a Newbee
Just not my cup of tea, I guess. Again, no offense meant. I'm looking for music that is more "active" and "busy". Hard to describe beyond that. I've got a couple good lists of artists now from other forum posts elsewhere, so I'm going to go through all that and see if I can find what I'm looking for.djredi2step wrote:dont see how the james blake remix can be boring really. besides its dance music. you dont need ppl to be captivated in the songs. if ppl are starting to get bored the dj will just mix in the next tune. A mess. That'd be the best way to describe it.steiney wrote:Hard to describe beyond that.
If you don't like any of them then you'll be hard pushed finding much of interest on here. Even if you do you may struggle lol. As you said the stuff on here is pretty polar opposite of what you're looking for.
I was gunna advise UKF but seems they've closed down due to spam, lolz.
Re: Ideas For a Newbee
I was trying to post aggy in ur face tunes that still have some musical quality to them. ah wellDRTY wrote:You can't expect to sway someone towards 'the good side' who is completely new to the genre, or having only heard screechy shit by posting James Blake or Guido. Always happens on here
