Getter Growl?

Post by vault » Sat Jun 01, 2013 2:09 am

So I thought we may take some attempts on making getter growls... Who's up for it?

What do we know at the moment?
Getter did a Q&A for Icon Collective Production School, and I gathered some info:

Getter: my fav osc for making dope synths are: crude, scrap yard, throat, and a saw. also in the mod oscdrop it -12or-24 and put test the phase/position on all the oscillators and match that to whatever lfo your using

Getter: i jsut assign the same or different lfos/performers to different stuff liek distortion dry/wet, phase modulator, wt position, filters and all that. dont really automate much

And regarding the filters, double notch and bandreject is my guess, haha. Going to try post up some results

Of course. I am 15 years old. I use logitech speakers worth £40. However compared to most producers, I don't find Getter's growls to be that amazing. Just my opinion, no need to be like that.
NEW SONG listen please:)

On another note, this is my latest growl. It is marvelously similar to MUST DIE's growl from octupus; the technique must be the same:

Woo! I was looking for that underground "punk" kind of sound! Sweet. Care to explain how you did it? Hearing it solo'ed like that it kinda sounds like some acid techno bass going from bass -> filter modulation -> vocoder with a vowely sample

Am I close?

What do people think of the growls in this WIP of mine? I actually just want honest opinions, since I'm trying to create growls that are actually sonically appealing. I'll be happy to give pointers if people want em, it's all in massive.

I like the one right at the drop, but I guess it's just performer on digital wavetabes, intensity, shapers and bandreject filters, am I right?

I do pretty much all my modulation via automation clips in fl, never use performer. For that one I think I modulated a LP (daft) and a double notch. Also some help from ohmicide and an external HP filter. Pretty sure there was an extra modulator in there as well, doing wavetable mod or something.
