No, they even dropped the acronym Music Television. MTV doesn't stand for anything any more... in more ways than one. Their main #1 demographic is 11-14 year old girls and they cater to that only. But just imagine that... they are programming 11-14 year old kids with this jersey shore type crap all day. This whole vocal fry speech phenomenon thing also spread like disease via MTV Jersey shore and Kardashian stuff. Vocal fry in speech is one of the most annoying things I've heard. Subconscious trends...
I thought the stereotypical American 'uptalking' accent (everything sounds like a question) was annoying at first, but it never bugged me like this haha.

And that's also why they didn't order new Beavis and Butthead episodes, they are trying to sell them to another network instead because 12 year old girls don't like the show.
