The Place Beyond The Pines

Pretty good but ultimately unremarkable.

Only god forgives.
Amazing pictures and set design throughout but unfortunately an unbelievably stupid story.
It looked like drive (even better actually) but had the subtlety of a drunken horny blind gorilla.
Such a letdown.. Boooooh.

Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
It has a bit of fantasy in it, but the setting is based completely on medieval Europe. Engaging series (probably my favourite in the Animé department) that builds up as it goes along to an incredible climax.
If you're still hungry after watching the 25 episode series, I can recommend reading the manga, which features a lot more fantasy elements though. But the series is dubbed in English and quite easily obtainable (if Japanese throws you off) and the Manga has been subbed by a well known fan group and is also quite easily found!
There are a few other good medieval movies of course ( a couple have been mentioned in this thread), but as I said, for me, that series is the pinnacle (and interesting as well as it's written from a foreigner's pov - Asian - who stood outside of our medieval culture and traditions).
Also, the series has recently been redone in a three part movie series (two of which have been released already outside of Japan) with up to date graphics. It skips some of the content because you can't really fit 25 episodes into three 90 min. movies, but the graphics update is also well worth the effort. But I'd save that for last.
