On the other hand, ppl saying iration steppas soundsystem is rough, if u thought that was good u need to hear Aba Shanti's system. Cleanest bass I've personally heard and man is a master soundman. Scala Kings Cross for University of Dub, he's resident there, next one on 31st May!
Aba runs his system so fucking loud, too loud sometimes. When he's got it on point it sounds crisp!!!
Aba is a beast too for sure!

Vivek needs to clash with Shaka at the next System.

Imagine people's faces when they walk in and clock Shaka's rig at one end of the hall :o

Shaka doesn't clash any more though, undisputed king of dub!

You know when the next Shaka dance in London is? Missed the last one in Southall & the one in the Dome: gutted.

Some promoter somewhere at some point needs to book the full RC-1 rig in a venue where it can definitely be turned up to the absoloute max all night. But in some format where you know that everyone understands the importance of ear plugs. Like, not to take them out for "just this one song", cos as people should know that does the damage right there.

I dunno, £30 ticket but you get given a pair of er20s or something on the door. Maybe you can get £15 back if you show them your pair of (proper) ear plugs on the door? And like, really really emphasise the point that people cannot take their ear plugs out. Somewhere with serious air conditioning too, no sweaty ears losing ear plugs.

Then the world can test something new...

We can dream of such a thing, it would be hard to get a promoter to take such a great risk with all of them over heads and most likely not being able to hold it in 99% of clubs. It would most likely need to be held outside of the city, the forum should get together and plan something. :w:

Looked great but the high-end could get uncomfortably screechy from what I remember. Not as weighty as it looked either, more about straight loudness.

The End is a Thunder Ridge system. Designed/built by some ex-Turbosound guys (IIRC). The company doesn't exist any more, but one of them is still building the cabs to order if you've got the cash (or so I hear)

Not sure what I think about RC1, I'm a bit confused/jealous because we used to run a DIY system, put way too much system into venues, and run it stupidly loud (which people loved), just like RC1 are doing, but promoters stopped using us in favour of Funktion One because our system wasn't 'hifi' enough? (and were willing to pay more money for less system) Now RC1 are doing the same thing but doing Hospitality, DMZ, Brixton Academy?? Doesn't make sense to me, but then we were working in a small town, not London.

I think they started up in Bournemouth and have worked their way up to where they are now. It seems to me that a lot of the hype about them is because they are the one "sound" that are playing dubstep right now, wish they had some proper selectors in the ranks though, would be nice to hear what the guys in charge like to play as generally that's what a sound caters best for.

I have heard a lot of sound systems over the years, all over the world at clashes, clubs and festivals. I really can say, ive heard nothing quite like RC1. I'm sure there are better out there, but yeh maybe they are not in the limelight as RC1 seem to be. I'd like to hear some competition tbh.

That will absolutely not happen, you couldn't use it at near max volume without seriously harming people, just wouldn't be safe. You wouldn't want to

And yeah it started in Bournemouth, see link in sig, we have it monthly :)

Alright then, nice and loud all night, then pull up a tune, and get sgt pokes to individually check every person in the places ears for earplugs, then when the man himself is content, loefah drops his remix of 50,000 watts at total shit-pants volume.

...I just want the experience of dmz 2nd bday again :D

We're using RC1 in Liverpool in Feb, think Birmingham is the furthest north they've been so far
