actually, this is the only tune by gantz that im not really feeling. but yeah, everything else from him is incredible. especially the collaborations with el mahdy jr... unbelievable!!!

Yeah I get why people wouldn't like it.. it was more an example of him doing stuff completely different instead of sticking to the same formula and throwing out a load of similar sounding tunes. Hes pretty similar to Commodo imo, not on the same level yet but getting there!

^ Definitely agree with most of that!

Not exactly dubstep, but the things that are really intriguing me in "bass music" (ugh, starting to hate that term) is probably that whole loosely-connected Keysound-sound, and the slowfast thing Om Unit, Danny Scrilla and many others are championing right now.


In terms of more "traditional" dubstep:

Gantz is on fire right now.

Clearlight is someone I'm really interested in following, his Redshift One release was superb.

Keep an eye out for Feonix as well, he's been under most people's radar for a while but his tunes are awesome.

Also, I feel like Riskotheque has been really underrated for years (maybe it's just me? I just feel like he belongs in the definite upper echelons in terms of ability). Hopefully his new outfit Klax can get the recognition they deserve (and it looks like it, with upcoming releases on Uprise etc.)

riskotheque's definitely underrated. though tbh i liked his neuro-ish stuff more than klax

He's not had any releases yet this year but he's played a few high profile sets (his set at System did the damage!) and he's got some absolutely ridiculous dubs in his bag so it's not like he's fallen off the radar, I think he'll have some new bits out before we know it
