Recording External&Internal audio FL Studio

Post by Evil_Dali » Sun Jun 23, 2013 7:48 am

I was wondering if anyone could explain if it's possible to record external and internal audio at the same time in Fl Studio.
I have Korg EMX which I use for the drums and structure of the songs and FL Studio, which I use firing samples etc.

I would like to record my songs as I would play them live, which means playing the audio from EMX and firing/effecting samples from FL studio on the fly.
I can record the external audio from emx from one mixer channel but how could I simultaneously record all the samples I trigger and the knob twists etc. which come internally from FL?

You said you've got the Korg routed into the mixer channel successfully? Right? If I'm understanding your question, then I believe you can just drop an edison plugin into the master (or some pre-master bus where you've routed all the internal FL studio audio and the Korg's Audio simultaneously) and just hit record on edison and start doing your thing.

Yes I think you understood my question :)

Yeah I've got the Korg routed to a mixer channel succesfully, hmm... Is it possible to record all the sounds to playlist as an audio clip? Doesn't it eat quite much CPU to record like 5-10 min songs to Edison?
Thanks for the answer :t:

Edison doesn't eat up too much CPU as far as I'm aware.

Take a look here at item 1. below "exporting audio" there's a button called "send to playlist"

It's more RAM you have to worry about with Edison, I'd imagine. Make sure you set the record length in Edison to 99 minutes though. Can't tell you how many times I've left it at default 5 and lost a bunch of shit.

Also, you can probably reduce the record quality to 16bit 44khz instead of 32bit floating point.

Every time I blaze before a sampling session I'll loose recording the whole side of an LP. Twice :dunce:
