I always prefered the subtle payback, like making them wait ages for their cold food or generally being unhelpful and slow. ..always good to see them getting more and more wound up.

The worst that happens is they call your district head or something whose job it is to sit on the phone saying whatever they want to hear while making jerk off motions with their hand and calling you up afterwards to have a laugh about that asshole customer.
The one good thing I will say about sales is when you're a top salesman or making a company a ton of money you can get away with murder.
One sales job I had enough of a regular customer base that I could tell customers I didn't want to deal with I was busy or that they should talk to another salesman because I refused to deal with them.

You're allowed to be in sales since it's commission based, why waste 2 hours on someone window shopping when you can get 4 or 5 quick and easy sales in that same time frame?
Same with management, you've done something right to get in that position.
Most of these jobs only pay you enough to just put forth barely enough effort and patience to not get fired.
The whole "the customer is always right" is pure bullshit.

I'm in the biz and meeting not only high school dropouts but like people from 3rd world countries with the equiv of an 8th grade education who are self-taught and KILLING it coding Ruby, Python, and other relatively easy programming languages. I mean, Python uses English syntax FFS! It's like they're begging you to come learn it and make more money...

Plus then you can create your own synths and shit.

That's the problem though the industry is over saturated atm with shit devs to the point where the going rate has been halved. I see full backend web dev positions being advertised for 14k and jobs looking for designers with coding skills for around the same.

Used to be assistant manager of a Blockbusters in Basingstoke. Had one really abusive guy, kicked off at about three of the guys on the tills because he thought he'd been overcharged, wouldn't calm down even when we offered him a free rental to shut him up.

So we added a note onto his account saying that he was overdue with late fees on some grubby softcore porn film. Next time he came in, he was asked in front of a queue of people (and his wife) as to the whereabouts of said film. He got blustered and said he'd never rented such a title. We apologised for our mistake in a most sincere manner wink wink nudge nudge sir, of course.

He was getting an earful from his wife as he left, never saw him again.

Something like 75% of the customers at the store I work at are white trash bikers. A percentage of them are in actual criminal gangs who sell meth and guns.

Worst fucking customers ever and they all try to screw at every turn. Like buying leather jackets for the weekend then trying to return them. And they want a discount on everything and act like the deserve it. Thankfully, we are actually allowed to tell people to piss off if they get smart with us about prices or returns ;p
