Just came across an EP from a dude called Coxy Panda, and can anyone of you guess where alot of the samples and like, just the tune, what song it originated from?
Best example of it I found on youtube starts at 1:05 in this preview
I dunno what to say about it, I'm kinda shocked tbh, haha.
Hope you don't mind me posting it in production btw, but wanted to know what people think about this kinda stuff/other examples like this

I've seen similar things like this before. It's gonna happen all the time with people emulating artists - there's loads of copycat tracks out there.
Also his tune is fucking irritating. The incessant white noise which sounds like Massive's "bright noise" generator stuck on full did my head in. Although to be fair it's decently mixed and sounds better than other KOAN clones - even some that I've heard on Beatport.
tbh I didn't think it was mixed that well... the wobbles seemed almost random and arrhythmic at times, especially in the beginning, and the sidechaining sounded kind of weird to me. And yeah I guess I'm not a fan of the constant white noise in the background either.

that doesnt even have any sub bass, i know like people go on about bro and how it dont have sub its all mid, but nah alot of tune do have sub in the bass, but that vid has no sub except from the kick lol
yeah but what is the point of dubstep with sub only in the kick, that is shit, thats why they think the tune sounds fat cos the vengence kick has some bass to it, but nothing else does

Oh, another Koan Sound wannabe? Even Au5 and Fractal are on that tip. It's dumb, but hey, everyone wants to sound like Skrillex too. Fuck it, make your music and stop caring so much about what other do.

Absolutely, I cry when I listen to a dubstep track that doesn't have sub.

Dont think it can be called dubstep if there's no sub

Sampling is a pretty common occurence in the music production world. Why does it matter where the samples came from, old vinyl records or a newly produced EDM track. Who really cares?
