Yeah I mean Rolling Stones only have a few tunes I really like (as opposed to The Who, The Kinks, The Beatles, The Animals and all those other better 60s British scene bands ), never bought into them...

But Mumford & Sons are those public schoolboy chancers from the advert for the shit sausages - no comparison.

Don't really mind RS at all, they just don't move me.

did anyone notice much more security / police presence / less people openly blazing green?
saw so many police patrols and them dickhead security firm guys (who confusingly had the same jackets as half of the young security staff who didn't give a fuck)
had an absolute ball but bit worried that it's losing it, obviously some would say it already has lost it but from my past visits (2009,2010,2011) I seem to remember green being much more tolerated and smelling it all over the place...
a lad next to me got his tent searched for green and subsequently confiscated just because security clocked him skinning one...
that being said I had no troubles and just had to kind of learn where police and security were (main paths between stages, path through dance village and the railway as a whole) and had a gooden

youngsta killed it, made my night to see him dropping claude van stroke at the end with a huge smile on his face hahah

Noticed no more than usual and and this year was FAR better organised than previous years. Fewer queues getting in, less busy in the late night areas. My guess is it's something to do with the festival taking back of the logistics work back in-house after it was done by Festival Republic since 2001.

That said I did get busted for smoking a spliff by one of the security dudes, though to be fair I did skin up right in front of him (mistaking him for a steward rather than security) and he waited until I'd pretty much finished it before just asking me to put it away.

Was a good one this year, stewarding was a laugh again, some of my shift patterns sucked ass (7pm - 1am, 6 hours break and then back on 7am till 1pm) but I made up for it by using my roaming shifts to look for drugs that people had dropped on the floor, I found 3 bags of green, a nice lump of hash and about 1/2g of mandy, absolute result, musically my highlight of the fest was prpobably the Peng Sound showcase on thursday, some of them new gorgon sound bits are FIYAH!

Another perk of stewarding was being stationed at the top of the Ribbon Tower for most of my shifts meaning I get this view:

Also going 'wombling' on Monday just as everyone was leaving was good, people leave so much crap behind it's unreal. We left with a gazebo, a 4 man tent and about 200 cans of Strongbow after about 2 hours spent looking through the detritus

Really jealous, guys. Saw Portishead on TV, looked amazing, so did The Smashing Pumpkins and Nick Cave.

Dunno about PE's performance, though, especially without Flava. The whole live band thing didn't really do it for me.

^their set seems to be getting rave reviews. weren't sold by it either but out to jamie xx and the edits he was doing.
those 'turn the page' and 'girls like us' samples in whatever that xx tune was were big.

Could hear The XX from my tent and it didn't sound too bad, I don't really know any of their stuff so can't really comment but it didn't sound particularly offensive or anything

Jamie XX is the only good part of the XX imo.

They would be as bland as keane without him.

They make music that is perfect for advertising gritty drama on iTV.
