yeah what youngsta plays these days has like no groove at all
Worst thing about current "dungeon" & a fair bit of Yunx's selection now.

Substituting a proper groove for a template tribal beat. even 09-early11 tunes by KM, Icicle, early Biome & Madd had nice halfstep grooves & space. Propaganda (OG mix) nailed it, went downhill after imo

I'm with you on this one, fucking producer's these days need to nix the tribal ass shit. i mean they're decent tunes usually but it's wearing down so much, even more than the usual dungeon stuff. That being said, Deep Heads Vol 10 had some nice halfstep grooves on it. Sadly Biome had to go make Black Widow a fuckin tribalfest. He usually does rock the halfstep beats but the point remains.

And it's not even just dubstep either, all these house and techno artists are doing it too. Even Lone's release last year was just tribal beats.

definitely, those tunes actually felt minimal and had some kind of atmosphere to them. a lot of newer stuff feels like it's kinda forced in that respect, i duno

I stopped listening to Yunx's show months ago, too bland IMO apart from a few stand out tunes.

Best yunx set I heard in ages was when he guested on VIVEK's show. Slightly different selection to normal I thought. Minimal Mondays is so dry now, I usually enjoy the first 10-15 mins and then start to get really, really bored.

Best minimal Monday set I've heard in ages was where he got Task on and they did a power hour the other week. Especially from Skank VIP onwards

Yeah big up Jesus for dying for our sins and netting us a public holiday in the process.

Also, hot cross buns.

The only producer exciting me on Yunx's show is Killawatt. Really liking his stuff at the moment. Was really feeling that Klax and Disonata tune on the Uprising EP, too. It seems in that sound that if someone comes with a big unique tune, everyone leaps all over the sound and hammers it (BNC, Ben Verse style leads etc).

Commodo, Gantz and LAS are on some next level shit, though.

I seem to be liking the new Grime coming out of Bristol more than anything in Dubstep these days. Keeping an eye on Commodo, Compa Distance and Kahn atm but that's about it.

The latest Dubtro release on Mindstep is growing on me by the day, and I liked it from the start. So, Dubtro :W:
