Help for a newcomer.

i'm thinking of buying some hardware soon, for some dj sets. I'm wondering if i should go with a controller, or just individual jogwheels and a mixer. Can anyone help me out, maybe throw out some good brands.

What's your budget? I'd probably recommend the Traktor S2 or a pair of 2nd hand CDJs and a mixer

Probably more than you want to spend. If you are talking new gear decent controllers probably start at around 500-600USD? And CDJs and a mixer will be double that at least. I may be off as I've not looked at that kind of gear much lately, but this is probably one of the more expensive hobbies to get into.

Native Instruments seem to make some cool controllers. If I'm remembering correctly so does Vestex and Serato.

ok thanks, i'm buying a little ways down the road, so that price range is acceptable. to narrow down my search a bit, should i be getting a controller, or individual mixer and jogwheels? should i be looking at 2 or 4 channels? Serato or traktor?
