How do yous guys calibrate for subass

I need advice on how to calibrate a room for subwoofer , I got a JBL LSR 10" 2310. anyone got some good advice? where do you place your subwoofer?

Pack that shit with bass traps. Sub placement will probably sound best somewhere along the front wall, anywhere from just off center to directly in the corner, depending on the room and the sound treatment. You can put your sub in the listening position, play some music or pink noise through it and move around and find the spot where the bass is most even and neutral, then put the sub there. (obviously you're gonna have to listen at floor level unless your sub levitates) Reflections and resonance works in both directions so if it sounds good with your sub in your chair and your ear on the floor at some point along the wall, the inverse will also be true (barring some other small factors)

Why pink noise? White noise has uniform power spectral density.

Pink noise is closer to how we hear. You'll notice white noise sounds like the high frequencies are dominating, despite the power being equal across the spectrum. Look at a spectrograph of a song and you'll see a slope similar to that of pink noise. Besides, we're talking about bass here, so disregarding the perceptual balance of pink noise, we don't need to hear much high frequency sound anyway.

if you're in a bedroom/home production environment, no placement will be "ideal" in the strictest sense of the word.

I read somewhere that you need to place your sub somewhere where there is unequal distance between it and each wall, for example, if you end up putting your sub in a corner, make sure it's not dead centre in the corner, and try to keep unequal distance between each wall.

The advice above about listening in the room for where the bass sounds more natural is good, try to do that if you can.

If not, just get accustomed to how your listening environment sounds. Compare your own mixes against professional mixes and pay attention to where their frequencies hit.

it doesnt matter where you place your sub, the room modes will still always be the same and you will get peaks and dips in the same places. But yeah if it is placed next to a wall then the bass will increase even more cos of the resonance. But yeah I think it is probably a better idea to learn your room and know what other tunes sound like in that room so that you can make yours sound like that, rather than worrying about where to put the sub. Although i spose some room treatment couldnt hurt, costs £'s though.

Since my headphones don't have great low frequency response I usually take a look at where other tracks are peaking at under 100 hz and adjust it after seeing that. Probably not the best way but it's better than winging it.
