Re: Oasis are the best band of the 90s.
Oasis sucked because their songs were boring, yet the singer acted as though they were the best thing to ever happen to music, and he also sucked at singing. All of England seemed to worship them and they were just not very good. That singer is a stupid drunk talentless tnuc with an ego the size of the galaxy.
The best bands of the nineties were the Pumpkins and the Foo Fighters. Their (Dave Grohl's) two first albums, released in the mid 90s are a million times better than anything Oasis has ever done in their entire career
Janes Addiction was also great. The Smashing Pumpkins also kick the shit out of Oasis. Oasis was utter garbage.

Pulp were better.
Re: Oasis are the best band of the 90s.
why don't we all just agree that bands in general are pretty shitty
p.s. the reason everyone likes oasis songs is cos tehy have a very simple rhyming scheme that lends itself to nonsensical lyrics that, albeit, sound good.
"slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball"
It literally makes no sense whatsoever, but everyone remembers it. This is Oasis all over. That's why it's good "drunk" or "festive" music but it's shit to listen to by yourself with headphones on, cos then you start to read more into it and you realise it's fairly insubstantial work.

Oasis write anthemtic, euphoric, proper rock and roll songs with swagger. Slide Away, Champagne Supernova, etc etckidshuffle wrote:i'd love to see jaydot finally defend his stance
Champagne Supernova is a genuine classic of our generation. As is Wonderwall. Few bands aforementioned here can say their tunes are that.
Oasis are world renowned and universally liked, pretty good for just another rock and roll band from a small town.
They spawned a generation of copycats. Blur included.
Their frontman is one of the most famous in the world. He has character, he has persona and stage presence. I could go on.
Re: Oasis are the best band of the 90s.
Blur formed earlier and released their debut album years before Oasisjaydot wrote:They spawned a generation of copycats. Blur included.kidshuffle wrote:i'd love to see jaydot finally defend his stance
Oh, and they're by far the better band

Blur make cheesy pop-rock though. Country House? Charming Man? Do me a favour.Liam92 wrote:Blur formed earlier and released their debut album years before Oasisjaydot wrote:They spawned a generation of copycats. Blur included.kidshuffle wrote:i'd love to see jaydot finally defend his stance
