Volt sets itself apart from any other fader you've used before. Whilst remaining lightweight, simple and easy to use; the parameters available enable you to fully shape and dynamically control program material with the utmost quality. Volt employs 64 bit precision, however the majority of DAW faders use 32 bit precision and begin rounding (sometimes in 1dB increments!) past a certain threshold.

The digital faders available to us did not suffice, so we developed exceptionally smooth, hair-splitting, double precision movements. Thus proving perfect for the most minute, high resolution incremental shifts for gain-staging across a 300dB range.

Any comparisons to DAW faders? You say digital faders don't suffice but you lack a demo showing why Volt kicks normal digital faders' asses.I feel like the difference isn't going to be enough to be noticeable.

So that you can loose focus of your music production and spend days trying to get your track elements to sit specifically at 12.1 db and 37.75 db respectively.

I can see this being quite handy in a mastering context (atm I'm using FreeG for more accurate control) but yeah I can't see me using this a great deal when it comes to basic mixdown stuff, still nice to know I could go to that many decibel places if I ever need to haha

I do think it's more a mastering tool than a mixing tool. I wouldn't put it on every channel in the mix, but if I had like 10 stems when I get to the master then sure, I want my fader to be fucking precise.

A useful general reference is that the just noticeable difference in sound intensity for the human ear is about 1 decibel.
JND = 1 decibel

It can be used like that, yes.
Volt can also be used to fade in/out effects, busses & your mix.

Being that Volt goes to 14th decimal places, it ensures fades are the smoothest you've ever heard. It is also useful for precise gain staging, to calibrate your mix precisely, or not.

Hi,

Reaper is great for holding precise values, we love Reaper.

If however, you wanted to split a file into 12 tracks & wished for them to add up to the exact same level as the input, I think you'd be more comfortable practising this operation in Volt.

I would like to stress that the primary function of Volt, is to create smoother fades.
It just happens to be very useful for precise gain staging too!
