It's not. London has enough warehouse parties if you want this sort of thing, and they're more frequent so less rammed the whole time.chekov wrote:i duno i've never been but from what i've heard i reckon it'd probly be worth travelling from other places in the north but i cant see it being worth coming up from london or somewhere like thatTopManLurka wrote:imo unless you live in manny, no.hutyluty wrote:are these worth the bother

I seem to remember hearing that 'illegal' warehouse parties (those that give the appearance of being illegal when they're not) are harder to come by in Manchester because of the gang/criminal issues, not sure how much bull that is or not though.

is manchester still really that bad these days?

An actual warehouse party in liverpool run by some very sensible guys ended up having all it's takings stolen at knifepoint and people tried to rush the club, i'd imagine in manchester there's still the risk. Bought a ticket for the four tet one earlier on, cannae wait

Yeah, heard burly story of a DJ getting his fingers slashed with a stanley knife in a similar circumstances so he couldn't mix any more.Blenky119 wrote:An actual warehouse party in liverpool run by some very sensible guys ended up having all it's takings stolen at knifepoint and people tried to rush the club

No it's not, students and migrants were pushed into the problematic areas which seems to of squashed a lot of the 'gangland' bollox.chekov wrote:is manchester still really that bad these days?
Warehouse Project peaked about 3 years ago, it get so rammed with clingons nowadays, it's not worth anyone from Manchester turning up, let alone a 5panel from daann saaff.

Re: Warehouse Project 2013: line ups out
It was the first year in the new venue last year so bound to be problems.. I only found it got really rammed in room 3 when people like DJ EZ were on, such a small room to put someone like EZ. Main room gets extremely busy but I rarely went in there and its so big you have room unless you're someone that likes to be near the front, I'm quite happy jamming at the back/side. Room 2 was good, never over crowded.. only problem was when I decided to get right up front for The Bug and the aircon broke, was a fucking sweat pit and the decks broke because of it.
Barely any wait for the smoking area too unlike the old one which was basically by the road side.
I'd say its worth travelling to if you're up north.. London and the like wouldn't be worth the hassle.

Seems loads of repeated bookings too, most people seem to be playing at least twice which is annoying as it seems quite a bit more expensive than last year.
Only one I was interested in was Four Tet and it's sold out.. hopefully physical tickets are still avaliable from Fopp, will go see when I'm back Monday... if not fuck WHP!

I might not bother this year.
Re: Warehouse Project 2013: line ups out
Prices are fucking insane, I went to 6 or more last year.. this year I'm gunna reach 2 max. Zomby one looks decent, bet Zomby has 'passport' problems again considering hes on the same bill as Scuba who threatened to knock him out last time (and he never turned up).
