52 free patches for dubstep production + VST

Post by angryrancor » Sun Aug 11, 2013 4:00 pm

Just did a new rev of my synth and released a huge patch pack... wanted to share.

New release of my free synth VST "rancorSynth", and 52 patches with:
  • 12 atmospheres including Oceans, Trains, Tape Hiss and more
  • 8 Synthesized percussion hits and
  • 32 Lead and bass synth patches, including 2 reese basses, 2 subs, many flutes, organs and more!
Get it at http://rancorsoft.com/rancorsynth.html

Bassadelic.com also just posted a feature on it ... linked on the homepage :) :).

Here is a pic of the synth

What will this synth offer that other freeware with more capabilities won't offer?
Other than being an obvious eye sore.

Not to hate on your hard work but there are a multitude of free synths that are better just based on the available features in your synth.

Synth 1 has more features.
Oatmeal has tons more and randomizes in an instant.

That oatmeal thing looks sick! Whats up with the wierd adsr, "ahdbdsr"? Hope its au, gonna get that when I come home.

Anyway, OP thanks for the synth but you know what? You could use your skills to program some killer new synth, with some new function that noones thought of making instead of this. One unique synth is better than 100 000 ones that does the exact same thing.
Keep learning vst programming and one day you'll come up with something sick unique! :)

Don't take my statements out of context.

I could have been far more hateful.
It only has a pitch mod ffs.

There's also Green Oak Crystal which has more modulation options than most synths out there.

If you want simple interface with major power then go for charlatan with it's analogue modeled filters.
Which imo is what you should be after with a simple synth.
Sound quality, sound quality, sound quality.

Just saying.

Instead of being a dick, you should stop with your 14k posts on here and make some effing music. There is no way you have made something quality if you spend all your time on here being a diseased post whore

I agree with Electric Head. This free synth looks very limited and the gui is just like a lot of free synths I've tried, so what's new with this? reminds me of some free dub siren vst I download a while ago lol...

Huh??

Really?

I wasn't being a dick.
I have suggested alternatives and reasons why it is an inferior vst.

A diseased post whore?
Who is actually being the dick?
I am an adult with a full time job that allows me the freedom to post on DSF when I want.
You know there are more areas on this forum other than production right?
Most of my posts are in the SNH now.

Check my soundcloud Psykodelix, there's music in there alright.
I haven't added anything recently but that doesn't mean I'm not producing.

Regardless, I suggested 3 amazing alternatives.
I said the gui looked ugly and that it was a simple vst with 100s of better free alternatives.
That is called giving honest criticism and backing up my statements with better options.
Use it, don't use it.

At least someone got the point of my statements.

Also please note all of my posts are my opinion and as such I have as much right as you to post here without being labelled as a dick because you disagree with my post.

Yeah but his response doesn't make him come off as a dick. Note that I am not calling you a dick, just saying that you kind of come off as one with some of those statements.

At least bouncingfish said thanks for the synth and encouraged him to keep programming, whereas you basically said "this is a piece of shit" and left it at that.

Might be an idea to keep some of those opinions to yourself sometimes though I think is the point

hahaha EH trying to help ignorant dumbfucks, just don't in the future, they never appreciate advice that isn't saying how amazing they are

edit; btw next time someone with 14k posts tries to help you, you might want to take his advice into consideration

Just to clear things up, I 100% agree with EH. I applaud the op trying to give us something that he put his hard work into for free, but it doesn't offer very much compared to other tried and true alternatives out there.

As for people saying he's a dick, so what? EH has more knowledge and has been of more service to these forums then most of the other trolls who call themselves producers.

No one is disagreeing with his advice, I'm just saying he should have phrased it differently. No one is arguing that you need to say it's amazing if it isn't, just that you should try to be respectful rather than bitching about how much of an eyesore it is and that it only has a pitch mod. When your only defense is "I could have been more of a dick," chances are good you were being a dick.

But then again since you're calling people ignorant dumbfucks, I'm not surprised you agree with him...

Also I fail to see how having a lot of posts necessarily means you're a good producer or that I should listen to you.

ugh nvm :D forgot what part of the forum I'm on

just to say though, EH really isn't being a dick, if you can't take eye sore (which it is) you should try to do something else because people will say your music sucks one day and you guys will cry so it seems

Yeah. This is actually just a minimal synth I made for simpler sounds. If it's a bit simple for your tastes maybe at least check the preset pack. Part of the idea is for it to be tiny though.

I'm working on bigger synths at the moment... Appreciate the encouragement bouncingfish definitely working on bigger and more unique effects at the moment.
