Bassnectar Immersion style kick

How can I achieve a kick similar to the one at the beginning. I made one very close to it a while back using either sampler or simpler in ableton just messing around before I really knew what I was doing. I did it using either a tom or one of the stock samples I can't remember and re-pitching it. I'm using Pro Tools now and have not found a way to pitch shift a sound and make it sound the same. All of the pitch shifters in PT diminish the quality. Or if there is another way I can get this sound using 808's or something let me know. But this has been really frustrating! Please help
