I don't play with a team. I should be able to do the above mentioned stuff in a solo queue.collige wrote:That's what team matchmaking is for.wysockisauce wrote: I like being able to see where I am at relative to other players and enjoy progressing through brackets or ladders..
And that's the exact attitude Valve is trying to avoid. Let's say you have the lowest ranking on your team after you queue, but you're a dedicated mid player who excels at the lane. Everyone else on your team will bitch at you saying "don't let the noob go mid" etc etc even though you would perform even worse if you're forced into supporting.I wont pick a support or initiator on a team full of retards because that's a guaranteed loss.
In fact, Dotabuff briefly implemented a public rating system at the beginning of this year and people were getting shit for being "bronze scum" within 24 hours before Valve implemented the privacy shit.
If you are a dedicated mid player and you are good you won't have shit stats. That's like saying someone is good at math but is failing a math class. If you really are a good player then you would let the more experienced players pick the more important roles. 99% of the time stats will predict how well you can do your job.
Because of the lack of stats people bicker even more and you end up with teams of 5 carries. In over 200 games of dota that i have played maybe a handful have had true supports.

again
