I know people in the game for decades and they don't have managers , what is it with new gen producers thinking they need managers?

and here's another reason to not bother running a label

people should just manage themselves / own label
then they can be sure they're only ripping themselves off
when losing money

cos u know they are dickheads and you can ban / block / burn them
it saves time in the long run

Managers really? I remember something like that mentioned by you Nakedlunch in a thread ''to the next generation of producers'' and I thought that's a singular case.

When you make a thread for it it must mean this have happened more than once. I won't ask names but does it happen often? Do you suspect these people to be bored rich kids or guys with middle age crisis? I'm super curious, never heard of such a case.

why not, if you're doing another job, and want to focus on music, why not get your friend who works in IT, buts like meeting people and organising shit to manage the admin? i guess its where some people find beauty. blah blah modern day multi tasking blah blah pre product release branding blah devils advocate

how do you know their 'manager' exists? I know some guys who will consult with their 'lawyer/manager/grpahics/admin departments" and guess who all those people are

It happens frequently enough for me to make a thread about it , I think that they think it's normal and necessary or someone is blowing smoke up their arse telling them it's normal and necessary.

Because it's awesome! Friend of mine is doing our 'managing' tasks. We enjoy ourselves and it work is perfectly.
But he isn't really a manager, just a good friend who is so much better in all the social media stuff and connecting with people! Not that he's the only one connecting with people... It's just a third person who happens to be a bit better at it!

But a manager contacting you in name of the group is a bit weird
