used not to get his stuff because i thought his synths were too rough but i ended liking his tunes, american or not

You know what gets me about him? Almost every element of the tune is sick, then it's all brought down by some horrible (imo) synth. I'm there thinking "Yeah, this is sick... smooth..." then BAM. And I switch off.

Like, if he could put that synth in the first few seconds of the tune, so he doesn't get me excited, that'd be cool.

i can get that - but for me that's what makes his music so interesting. all about the contrast - gives a blast of energy while retaining the smoothness it built until then. can totally see how that could put someone off though!

+1 on swindles syynths. they do not tickle my tasetbuds in the slightest, like theres a difference between raw sounding synths and synths that just sound irritating and abrasive. shame rly cos hes obviously a good producer. i dont think thres one swindle song that i actually like. i like bits and bobs of a lot of his songs but i dont fully appreciate any of them ;(
