unfa - Emerge (experimental, instrumental)

Post by unfa » Fri Sep 06, 2013 10:51 am

This is a track form my album Backside Front.
There are no samples here - I've created 100% of the sounds using a software synthesizer (yes, the drums too!).

And with this track I'd like to say hello to the Dubstep Forum :-)

Shortly: I'm a Linux geek and a vocalist.

Hi everyone!

Interesting sound design on here, but felt the mixdown could do with another look...the kick is hitting a lot more in the mix than the rest of the elements around it at times.

Thank you for feedback, wub!
Maybe the kick is just a bit too loud in the sub-bass range?

Depends what frequency you've got them both hitting at...it's as much about creating room for the kick with the other elements, TBH. Solo the kick & sub in turn, have a listen, maybe run them through a spectral analyser to lock in on the frequencies etc.
