Been enjoying this one all summer long, from a local brewery.
Better then Guinness.

i'll have to try that one, but im not really too fond of the mill street beers i've had.
Re: Ninjas that know about beer
The only one I've ever had was Mill St Organic and it wasn't all that great to be honest.kidshuffle wrote:i'll have to try that one, but im not really too fond of the mill street beers i've had.
Their Coffee Porter looks good though: http://millstreetbrewery.com/#/ourbeers ... ee-porter/

Re: Ninjas that know about beer
UK people who like saisons - check out Poppyland's stuff if you see it anywhere:
http://www.poppylandbeer.com/
Not cheap, but very nice and quite unusual for a UK brewer. Their dry-hopped saisons are excellent, and the other stuff I've had from them has been good too.
In other news, I'm off tonight to try som Westy 8 that a mate's got hold of. Taking along Traquair Jacobite, Thornbridge Bracia, Dark Abbey from Top Out (*PLUG* http://topoutbrewery.com/ new scottish micro, a mate of mine is one of the two brewers), and picking up some other Belgian stuff on the way...
Grim hangover incoming...

Re: Ninjas that know about beer
We tried Mikkeller 1000 IBU round at Slothrop Towers the other night.
It was good. Gimmicky for sure, but still tasty. Very hoppy, as you'd expect, but not a million miles from more mainstream stuff like Oakham Green Devil IPA or Stone Ruination.

Re: Ninjas that know about beer
i'm sure the m&s citra is the same as oakhams citra? sure
i got told that albeit probably pissed.
oakhams green devil is the one! local pub recently got a few barrels which is great to say they ran out of one of te ingredients the make it recently.
cheap, tastes good and is a nice %.
had some of the mad hatter brewing company's beers last week. a relatively new brewery from liverpool.
their down the rabbit hole is a nice strong hoppy red ipa. good strong 10% too.
their mosaic saison was top draw as well for a sour, but i think that was limited to port street in manchester only as a distributor.
would recommend UK folk to give it a spin!
do like mikkeller but quite hard to come by as brew dog have bought the rights to sell it.

ah i mean you can only really buy it in a brew dog pub. they've bought the rights to sell it IIRC
if people want to buy it to sell then they have to go through brew dog

Re: Ninjas that know about beer
Didn't know about this, but having done a bit of research it looks like Brewdog have secured excloose UK importing and distribution rights for Mikkeller's stuff.
There seems to be a bit of debate as to whether this has resulted in prices going up, the range of stuff available changing or what.
Article here:
http://www.boozebeatsbites.com/2013/05/ ... bacle.html
There's some fairly lively discussion in the comments, also featuring a good rant from someone with the valid point that it's a bit fucking rich of Brewdog to keep going on about how "punk" they are when they're offering Tesco discounted rates so they can continue to undercut independents.
