Aw, just found out Gourmet Beats has aired it's last show while looking for their latest podcast.
Over 10 years of internet radio shows.
Out to Joe Nice and DJ Tal for one hell of a ride.
Your chests.
26
AUG/13
It was over a decade ago that Joe Nice and Tyler Schmith (then known as DJ Tai) sat down in a small Baltimore nightclub and decided to create the music collective that would become Gourmetbeats.com. They wanted an outlet to play their music for the world, and in September of 2003 the first episode of Gourmetbeats radio was broadcast live and for free across the internet. Joe Nice had been talking to some friends in London about a new style of music that had caught his ear... something called "dubstep"... and had just gotten some unreleased songs made into what would be his first dubplate. Meanwhile, Tyler dove into the world of deep house and downtempo while also serving as the site's chief webmaster, editor and designer. Among the first guests on Gourmetbeats Radio were Dan Gee and John Ask, two of Baltimore's most respected DJs, and masters of all things dub. Joined by the rhymes of MC Twisty, some of the most memorable radio shows were broadcast with these five in the room. Gourmetbeats radio has hosted a who's who of Baltimore DJs and an eclectic offering of genres. As the first recurring Dubstep radio show in the United States, Gourmetbeats has never been limited to one style, and has showcased everything from HipHop to House to Baltimore Club, always with an ear towards quality and innovation.
Ten years and over 200 broadcasts later, Gourmetbeats says Goodbye as we move on to new adventures and fresh opportunities. We are sad to close this chapter, but excited to start the next. Join us for one last hurrah September 26th at Red Maple with a lineup to be announced. For those outside of Baltimore, tune-in live on Gourmetbeats.com for our final broadcast!

he's got to start a show under another name or something. gourmet beats was the best dubstep radio show hands down. so much variety you cant find in any other show.

Damn, that's no good.
So many quality shows.
Joe got me into Dubstep with his shows.
I even went as far as trying to get him a SA tour off the back of his shows

Pity I couldn't get enough club owners to cover his cost.
It would have been epic.
Eye opener for SA imo.
