Curious - Who has ended up with reason as their main daw?

I'm wondering who has ended up with Reason as their main daw but has had a different daw as their main in the past? I'm not talking about just trying another daw, I mean someone that was fluent in another daw but ended up choosing reason in the long run.

I'm just curious because I started on Reason, but now use Logic. However, I do still use Reason for some things and then rewire. But the other day my friend just got Reason and I started showing him some stuff and I quickly remembered why I switched to logic. It was kind of a pain to setup a kong so that each drum hit had its own mixer channel, and then its even more of a pain in the ass if you want each drum hit to have its own fx chain without using sends.

Then a few times he had stuff wired weird so it was incredibly hard to route things correctly in order to process them correctly. Idk after a little while I said fuck it and opened up Logic and we had a jam on Logic. He has never used a DAW before but he plays the drums and guitar and has been around music production a lot so he helped me musically while I controlled the DAW. it was quite fun as I have NEVER collaborated in real life before, its awesome!

Anyways, that's my little rant and curiosity because I really can't picture using Reason full time, it's very cumbersome for me. Still an awesome piece of kit.

Yeah pretty much use Reason for everything, actually still on version 5 as well.
I do use Logic and Pro Tools quite a bit too, but I work twice as fast in Reason.

yeah i hear you man. certain things it is quick for but dont you find it a huge pain in the arse working with the rack and fx chains and wiring up kong or redrum to process each individual hit? idk i just like the mixer in logic with the insert cubes that you can click to open. seems a lot more intuitive and tidy for me.

I have always used protools for recording and sequencing in school and college but at home ive always used reason (4). I just find it quick and easy to work with! Im using logic at uni, still cant get my head around it. I can do what i want with it but it takes agessss. so many menus and shit.

I've been using reason for a few years now, i've tried cubase and fl studio as well but i find with reason it's really easy to organize everything in the way you need to picture exactly how you're crafting your sounds. I find kong very useful actually, i usually try different ways of doing my drums, usually just have 1 kong for drums and 1 for fx, then you can route each samples to whatever effects you need and keep it nice and organized all inside a mix channel or combinator. If lets you pump out ideas really quick and focus less on setup i've found, but i can definitely see the advantages of other daws too, its all about a balance.

you guys think its easier to stay organized in reason?? im OCD and thats what i hated about reason. racks get messy even with combinators. i found staying organized in logic much easier, especially now in logic 10 with track stacks and the ability to move mixer channels without the arrange window workaround.

eh, I thought this still wasn't possible?
