I like Night Slugs on the whole, not fussed about a bunch of releases, but I do think many of them, irrespective of the club constructions series, aren't designed for home listening.

Jam City though. He is SICK. Underrated massively, probably one the best, most original producers of the last 5 years. His refix ep on NS is amazing. Dat Engames refix is a serious percy.

that sounds better than the first album instrumentally (although not especially amazing), but fuck me he has a horrible singing voice. He sounds like someone is holding his nose.

What is pretentious about night slugs?
The releases sounds like they are trying to be something else, production always comes across as samplepack. The visual styling of the label are taking from others and it just comes across as all cliché. There just seems no depth to anything they put out. Obviously my opinion.
my opinion is that your opinion is a series of ridiculous statements

all of the visual styling, from the logo and all the release artwork, to the typography and the website is all pretty spot on tbh and verry recognisable as night slugs. the brand works well.
