find myself finding such better/wider range of tunes on vinyl these days than mp3. proven perfectly in this mix!

yeah all of these bits are from our own shop

love yr comment about the quality of music on vinyl
as I ONLY looking at vinyl means i dont have perspective on digi-shopping
i've never moved across cos i never wanted to
i like holding / mixing records
and to be honest i'm noticing increasingly how much better the sound is in general

if i can be so bold
basically i buy for the shop
and i'm like a kid with ice cream
so many different flavours
its exciting
the whole process

when we get customers in who share our enthusiasm
its a buzz

we try to keep an old skool dance specialist vibe
not just going for the 'boutique' 'collectory' angle
(though we eat up experimental vibes when they snag on our tastebuds)
but we concentrate on stocking solid dancefloor joints for committed djs wot play out too

i thought i'd take the opportunity to post about an ep we are rather looking forwrd to putting out
we feel it certainly owes SOME debt to house music so here it is

ha - that mix link is dead already
as i'm a bit of a smoked out cave dwelling weirdo
i tend to post mixes and delete within short time
convince myself i'm rubbish etc
still there's another one up now
for how long is anyone's guess

i reckon that BOXWORK ep is feeling pretty fresh with it
he's drawn elements of tribal house, rare groove sampling and the 'king of pop' and werked those differing elements into his own hard edged house technique.
i would really like it to get some recognition
but either way - we know its PHAT AS PHUCK

the last official HOUSING PROJECT release too
(we may do a farewell unreleased tracks comp ting if there's time before chrismas)

We try our best in Soton but Brighton kills it scene wise. not much down here unfortunately until the students are back fully.

meanwhile
i mixed all over the shop between abstract house & techno and stuff here
unrehearsed improvised mix with no set destination
i'd say it may not be too dancefloor orientated
but i'll dance to the fridge on occasion
