Derocc - "Lets Get Fucked Up" (Drumstep)

Post by Derocc » Sun Sep 15, 2013 10:39 pm

Hey everyone! I just finished this upbeat drumstep track. Tried some new tricks with this track, some different samples I havnt used before and some fun FM synthesis. Feedback would be super appreciated!!

Kick/snare are both a little on the flat side and sounding quiet, particularly against the vocal. Good switch up in tempo around the 2m10s mark, adds some energy to the last third of the tune.

Actually quite enjoyed the vocal you've used...it fits the vibe well and it's overused. This is a pretty damn good piece composition wise, got some hook elements to keep the listener interested and drives itself well.

Only suggestion would be to take another look at the mixdown to get the drums up a little in the mix. But yeah, this is damn good stuff :Q:

Thanks man! Do you think its more of a volume issue, or an eq issue on the drums?

I'd say a volume issue for now, but if you bring them up a little that's not to say some further eqing won't be required :)
