Pretty disappointing that the volume kept getting turned down, don't see what the fuss was about as it was quieter than Love Saves The Day. Until the first turn down (Mad Professor's set?), System was excellent. After that it was just wandering from place to place hoping (and failing) to find a system that wasn't turned down. Glad they turned it back up for Breakage and the final Roots sesh.

Sureskank, on the other hand, was awesome throughout! Kahn & Neek were a great warm-up for Loefah b2b Pinch with loads of old school tunes. Blazey's set was mindblowingly good. Gemmy was good too but tough acts to follow! Definitely night of the year for me to date.

I think I seen you there, obvs didnt know it was you until i just read that description.. was a good little night that!
Seen, no worries! I'll be about. Was a good party saw lots of faces and chatted lots of shit.

Tokyo Dub was kinda dead out till about 7pm when they turned the rigs up. Breakage actually saved the day for me. His set was vibes and System was sounding good. I felt bad for giving Vivek shit about it being so quiet earlier. I think we all agreed that the 'Bus Stage' was god awful, but I could hear that louder than System, whilst in front of the System stack.

That RC1 system is the same one they used at DMZ 8 right? That thing is insane, literally the loudest (and one of the weightiest) things I have ever heard.

Sureskank was a great party, had a fantastic time, was great to meet so many ninjas. Hopefully convinced a few of y'all to come back to the online fold :6: Think I bailed at about 5ish? Don't remember how i got home and woke up in someone else's bed. A sure sign of a good night!

Agent47 - you disappeared when I went for a piss in the pub before sureskank, hope everything was alright?!

Had a jolly good time in Bristol, was all good up until System got turned down towards the end of Gorgon Sound's set, then there was a bit of a lull until Breakage's set when vivek started playing with the amp and unleashing some serious weight.

Shame I didn't get into sureskank (I lost my ID at tokyodub) but a massive thanks to Hobson for sorting me his keys so I could just crash there until everyone got back, lifesaver!

I had a dream that I was mediator in an argument between VIVEK and a traffic warden last night.

That doesn't make up for missing Tokyo Dub, though. Glad to hear everyone had a great one!

Weird, last night I had a dream that I fell asleep during System and woke up to find the dome being used as a bingo hall, I kept heckling the bingo caller to play some tunes and got lots of weird looks from all these old biddies, very strange dream

was definitely enjoying a lot of good sets in the park... Iration & Aba Shanti was biggest for me - both selection and sound was quality. System's sounded weirdly low to me (left near end of Kahn & Neek set - had really hoped that they would play some grime). Loefah was good until someone decided that he needed an mc... it was really not working out - and where were Chunky? saw him at Dojo with Mushy on wednesday??.
Bug & Flow Dan was on fire, but again the system was waaay to low - he even called it out from the stage: "yo, why is the sound so low?"
Saw Zed Bias & Coki at the RC1 system, which peaked whenever there was a drop, before the limiter kicked in and turned it down again... and then the same mc got on the mic :|

could only find the Blue Mountain after party, and even though it had a huge cue outside, it was kinda empty inside. called it a night after we came out in the rain, and could not find the Iration after party..

Yeah I was aware it wasn't nearly as loud as it could have been, just really impressed with the clarity and the warmth of the bass

Was a pleasure to come to bristol again. Tokyo dub was quite, well... interesting. Good vibes and good weather so cant go too wrong, and glad they turned system up again in the end, Vivek was doing his best to keep everyone happy. Sureskank was great also.... still I have no idea what made me wear big old Dr martens when I clearly knew I would be standing the whole day!

I really didn't enjoy the Iration set, but that was mostly due to the sound. Was stood towards the back and the highs were stupidly high. Had to actually get my head quite close to the ground to get decent bass volume.

Also, apparently the low end frequencies were travelling well into Cabot Circus. One of my mates was out shopping and said the buildings were all throbbing. So maaaaaaaaaaybe Bristol Council did have to do something about it. Would be good if they move it to Ashton Court or the park in Fishponds where they held Arc Festival next year.

yeah, the highs in the sound system was not really well balanced, and stupidly sharp - but with earplugs in; it sounded brilliant. And you were standing in the middle, the subs were raised well in your earheight, since it was on top of the little hill... A little better with the UNOD system, where Aba Shanti played. And they had the little courtyard to emphasize the bass.

But the RC1 system was turned way too much down, could hear Iration play during Zed Bias set, and I was in the middle of the crowd. Would love to hear that properly another time.
