mexican is one of the only foods in the world that you cannot get to a gourmet standard in london. trust.

but there's a few restaurants opening up soon apparently.

I'd happily trade all these mexican places, with practically one on every block here in San Diego, for some more Indian take out. Although, theres nothing like the third world authenticity of a Tijuana Adobabo(spicy pork) street taco.

Yeah. What is up with the Jalapeños? Are they illegal out there or something? How many stores did we go to? And no jalapeños, any where.

Me and Mundo found a lil mexi joint in Brighton. They had some pretty banging salsa. But the food was booty :( They threw Mundos nachos and my quesadilla in the microwave :( :(

The whole month I was out UK I felt like I was the only Mexican out there.
Can Mexicans just not afford to roll that way? Can they only mass produce over land and not across large bodies of water?

Hrmmm.. Might have something to do with supply and demand? I'm sayin',..open a taco chain out there..You'd be the man.

Erm, Old El Paso and Discovery both make jarred Jalapenos (don't have the squiggle 'n'). The Discovery ones are more like the real thing. Discovery also make really awesome refried beans.

If you mean fresh chillis, then fair point.

Offtopic but what's that wee outdoor cafe in the middle of Covent Gdns called? Just outside the market. They got outdoor heaters and the bird decided in the week or so that we spent in London that they had the best coffee to be found in the city. It's not Costa's or any of that pish, it's the real deal.

that place looks about as authentic as one could get in london. but £5.00 for two tacos? that is fucking outrageous.

question should have been "authentic" mexican food then, right?
