LX One

Post by MrReplay » Tue Oct 08, 2013 12:06 pm

does anyone else here think he sucks?

His "lyrics" are beyond jarring - they don't rhyme & seems to have 2 or 3 that he repeats constantly. He gets tongue twisted pretty much every time he opens his mouth too...

He's made some wicked tunes - should stick to that imo.

i've actually never listened to him MC, but as a producer i think he's pretty solid. always love his collabs with SP:MC.

lx one is a host/toast, not strictly an mc. yes, there's repetition... so? i think ive got a video of him going in freestyling on j:kenzos set in cable a couple of yrs ago. he's hype...

and he's a sick producer in his own right, his latest 12" is an absolute monster. those basslines...

his latest 12"... would that be the one with Yunx or did release another this year? that one was a banger, i admittedly played that one a bit too much in my mixes.

I thought his latest 12" to be a bit boring.
still one of my favourite hosts though. I strongly disagree with OP's statement.

LX:One was an alias to begin with wasn't it?

Joker D or something like that??

not sure what you're trying to say with that? i wasn't trying to start a "dungeon all sounds the same" discussion. but there's a difference between having a distinct style/sound while still making interesting new stuff and doing the same thing over and over again. imo all the guys you mentioned are far more versatile, but maybe that's just me. i still rate a lot of lx's tunes, i just don't feel like buying his new stuff because i feel that i already have the same tunes on vinyl, which will have the same impact in a set.

Yea it was him over Kenzo in the second half of the show that made me post this - he's pretty fucking cringeworthy in places & there's no denying it. :t:
