@ehbrums1 Levels all sound nice and nothing sounds too loud or quiet, however. Overall it sounds quite cheap, especially the drums, also sounds really empty. Would love to hear it when it's finished!
@Lye Form . Really feeling that, liked the second drop, sounded a bit more varied, not really into the deep stuff so much but could really appreciate what was going on in this!
My offering.

Re: THE SECRET NINJA DUBS CLUB
ehbes, nice tune
leviticus - not a bad of a tune, but the mixdown is way too bright for my liking the high end and white noise are really tiring on ears and it could use some more weight
the other links on this page dun work for me (even when i click them)
here's my tune, has been a wip for solid few months, but i think all i have to do is add some FX and mix it down and it's done. thoughts?

Re: THE SECRET NINJA DUBS CLUB
Vocals are a little small and central. Backing track is big and lush and is eating the vocals a little much. One of those situations where a very small ratio change can make a big difference.
Some of the fuzziness of the vocal doesn't sit too well with the backing track as well. Moony sounds plus percussion reach way up and are super clear into the highs (and are wide), and vocals are just fuzzed out, creates more of a difference, like vocals are just kind of placed onto the track. Two different sonic spaces.
Beat is dope, sounds are good, sold my sub so am just getting feathers of what is happening below but it my sub-intution is that it is tight. Quality vibe.
3.5 doge's out of 5.

Re: THE SECRET NINJA DUBS CLUB
Nice one man, appreciate the feedback! Yeah the accapella was already drenched in reverb and decay and has alot of effects on it so quite hard to get to sit properly, will give it a tweak!

Re: THE SECRET NINJA DUBS CLUB
My mate's put 2 of his tunes up for download. I've asked for feedback on some of his other stuff before in here so figured it'd be the best place to put em.

All that melts away when the lights are down and the bass is up.
Re: THE SECRET NINJA DUBS CLUB
Maybe try to blow up the vocal a bit with something other than pure gain. Some type of harmonic exciter, saturator, maybe a parallel overdrive with a little plug in delay compensated linear phase eq killing the lows. I don't know, I've often tried to bring definition back to material that has been mp3'ed or otherwise filtered out.... it is a fools errand. But we are fools.
Also, just go through that vocal with the old parametric boost trick to find some of that fuzz around the vocal, and then maybe pull a out a little of its chief resonance, its essentially noise, so won't do much but it'll do a little.
I've been talking about nudging the vocals up into the size and depth of the backing track... you can also pull back the backing track down into the space of the vocal (a bit). Pull some highs, a little fuzz up there (maybe saturation, or a tape sim), a little more narrow.
Honestly, a little widening, a little gain (of whatever sort) on the vocal and it might sit a bit better.
Oh yeah, and fuck you.

or your mate could just lower the volume of the beat and percussion in general, Riddles.nowaysj wrote:Maybe try to blow up the vocal a bit with something other than pure gain. M8son: mixdown sounds alright over here, feeling what you did with that acapella. good work!
Re: THE SECRET NINJA DUBS CLUB
The sound quality of mp3s should be of no concern - because what we tend to do with other plugins are with out a doubt as drastic and cause as many artifacts as mp3 compression does.
So it can become a straight up artistic choice instead, IF you decide to look at it like just putting an effect on a track.
People like FlyLO it could be argued, almost try to get their stuff sounding like it's had too much mp3 compression.
In speach - sybillance is almost identical to the transients in the sound - so just trace them and maybe cut the tail and put both in another room (verb).
You could also trace them -melodyne them and get a midi version and then have a synth layer, that mimic the vocals. You can hear that effect in for example the Miley Cyrus video with the wrecking ball or any track produced by Danja, most tracks with Nicki Minaj where there's those crazy addlib effects. And it's why Timbalands (recordings of other peoples
) vocals always sound so clean - and often a bit of vocoding in the background.
