Name another UK DJ that has achieved more than him by just DJing. Ben UFO is the only one who comes close, Yunx also. Yunx is just a technical machine but his selection is pretty one dimensional, Ben UFO is probably technically better but selection nowadays isn't as diverse and good as Onemans (imo).

Lol @ playing to trendy people like the guys had a 2 year career.

Hes been grafting for years. Despite a handful of releases on 502 hes stuck at what he does.

In a field where you pretty much need to either run a label or produce to be as big as him you've gotta stand out above the rest.

Its easy to dumb down achievements when you don't agree though.
Where does EZ come in this?

Love Lockdown was fucking awesome and the only really groundbreaking track I've heard from him. Rest of the time not really rated his production as anything other than an updated take on g-funk era stuff. Someone like KNXWLEDGE blows him out the water in terms of beat making, IMO.

Really I'm just starting to come to the conclusion that, aside from a few exceptions, people from the UK really need to just stfu about hip hop because they're almost always wrong.
Top class comment from Scope as always.
It's so true though. Two people just said that everything Kanye has written is shit ffs. Sure, he has some turds, but christ, if you really think everything the dude has written is shit you're either mental or you're being edgy for the sake of being edgy.
So 2 people being "wrong" = people from the UK should shut up?

Some of your posts are whack bro, US should shut up on dubstep forum.

You being an expert on that of course...

great this has resulted into "people from x dont know about x"

Nah Kanye is just poo.

Some of his production is decent, but outclassed by many.

Prob doesnt help his voice is just fucking annoying.

I'd argue Oneman has done more in the last decade but yeah EZ deserves a mention.

It doesn't count as musical genius though. he's not created anything or artistic value really has he. Just played other people's music. Again I believe djing is a creative artform and I respect all he's achieved but it's not exactly in the same league as those actually writing groundbreaking, original, emotionally powerful or technically impressive music now is it?

The original statement was partly tongue-in-cheek, you're getting yourself way too wound up gareth. And I don't see how that quote is evidence of me trying to be "edgy" but alright. Don't see why you're so dead set on sending for me tbh.

Actually yeah, liked a few tunes off 808s & Heartbreak (is that what it was called?) but couldn't sit there and listen to the whole album like College Dropout.

lol send for? You come on here saying "people from the uk should shut up about hip hop" because 2 people don't like Kanye West. A lot of your posts are needlessly antagonistic imo, but yeah, I'm sending for you haha.

Didn't realise they'd done so much post-2003. Definite add! Thought it was all 90s-early 2000s. :4:

Thats not why I said that. That statements about kanye were made after I said that. I was basing my statement about brits on past experience, and it obviously wasn't meant to be taken entirely seriously, although I stand by the fact that there's some truth to it.

I must be the only person who thinks Kanye is simply alright. Everyone else seems to be at polar opposites. He can make good tunes yeah. There are people better out there though. I mean his beats can be good but also a bit derivative. His rapping hardly reaches any genius levels but he's not bad either.
